This matched combo is purpose-built for slow-pitch jigging the rhythmic lift-and-flutter-fall technique using centre-weighted metal jigs on a parabolic rod. Every component is selected to maximize jig action, sensitivity, and performance at depth.

Rod: Assassin – Jigmaster II Slow 6MH-S Spinning Rod

The Jigmaster II Slow 6MH-S is a dedicated slow-pitch spinning rod engineered with a parabolic blank that loads and rebounds on each lift, driving the flutter-fall action that triggers strikes. The medium-heavy power rating handles serious jig weights and the fish that chase them, while the slow action keeps jig movement natural and deliberate. Sensitivity through the blank lets you read bottom contact and subtle takes clearly.

Reel: Daiwa – 26 FREAMS LT5000D-CXH

The 2026 FREAMS LT5000D-CXH sits in Daiwa’s Light and Tough platform, keeping weight down without sacrificing rigidity critical when working a slow-pitch rod all day. The extra-high gear ratio delivers fast line recovery between drops, while the D-sized deep spool holds adequate braid capacity for offshore depths. Daiwa’s proven drag system provides smooth, reliable pressure when pelagic or bottom species make their run.

Line: Atomic – Linez Braid 8X Multi Colour

Atomic Linez 8X Multi Colour braid delivers the near-zero stretch essential for transmitting rod tip movement directly to your jig at depth. The 8-carrier construction produces a round, compact diameter that cuts through current efficiently, maintaining jig presentation. Multi-colour metered sections let you track depth precisely a genuine advantage when working slow-pitch jigs in the strike zone.

Together, this trio delivers a balanced, technique-specific slow-pitch jigging setup for anglers who fish seriously. Add to cart and get on the water ready.
