Versatile control for trout in wide rivers and deep pools

The Lupus 71 is a well-balanced, mid-length trout rod designed for fishing wide rivers, dam outflows, and deeper pools where precision and power are both essential. At 7’1″, it provides excellent reach and control while still feeling nimble enough for close-range work.

The blank combines a sensitive, flexible tip that cleanly hooks smaller trout, with a firm butt section capable of turning larger fish in current. Its ideal for fishing spoons and minnows with accuracy and control, whether you’re working across broad main flows or slowly tracking lures through backwaters and eddies.

With a smooth, progressive action and classic wood grain reel seat, the Lupus 71 is a reliable choice for anglers covering a range of water from bush-clad mountain streams to larger lowland rivers.
