When youre chasing trophy sharks from the beach, jetty, pier, or any land-based platform, you need a reel that can absorb raw power, sustain long fights, and deliver dependable performance trip after trip. The Okuma Makaira Special Edition LBS Two-Speed Reel is engineered from the ground up to be a specialized shark-fishing weapon built for land-based anglers who demand strength and control when the biggest fish hit. From the robust machined frame to the long crank leverage and custom drag cams, this reel is crafted to dominate shark battles from shore.

Performance You Can Feel

• Two-Speed Gear System Switch between fast line pickup and powerful low gear torque on the fly, ideal when working heavy live baits or fighting a run deep into current or structure.
• Carbonite Dual Force Drag Smooth, predictable drag that holds against hard-charging sharks and eliminates jerky starts/stops mid-fight.
• Extended Handle & T-Bar Grip The 125 mm longer handle with comfortable T-bar knob gives you leverage when it matters most.
• Topless or Cross-bar Frame Options Both designs give you excellent line access and control depending on your setup and line choices.
• Heavy-Duty Construction 6061-T6 machined aluminum frame, forged sideplates, and 17-4 stainless steel helical-cut gears deliver stability and torque that can stand up to serious abuse.
• ABEC-5 Bearings & Silent Anti-Reverse Smooth retrieve feel and reliable engagement under load whenever you need it.
• Hammerhead Shark Etched Sideplate

Real-World Advantage: Land Based Shark Fishing

Unlike boat-based reels that assume youll be fighting offshore currents and you can walk around with leverage, the LBS version is optimized for battles where every crank counts and youre anchored on sand or rocks. The extended handle arm and specialized drag cams give you precision control, which is essential when youre standing on shore and the shark runs hard.

• Target sharks from shore, beaches, jetties, or breakwalls.
