FlatFish Package Instructions F-7 to T-4FlatFish is a shallow to medium diving plug designed to catch a wide variety ofgame fish. This lure produces a wide, strike-producing wiggle when trolled, backtrolled or reeled at slow (slow is good with FlatFish) to medium speed. For bestresult, tie your line to the round-eyed connector snap or figure-eight eyelet providedwith lure. A barrel swivel can relieve line twist associated with spinning reel useand should be placed from two to four feet ahead of lure.LAKESFlatFish can be trolled on a flat line (no weight added) near the surface, which canbe effective when cloudy or during low-light conditions. When fish are runningdeeper add weight (split shot, trolling sinker or bottom walker) 36-to-60 inchesahead of lure. Leaded line, with 6-to-8 foot monofilament or fluorocarbon leader,can also be used to take FlatFish to fish-holding level. When used in conjunctionwith downrigger, try running your FlatFish 20-to-30 feet behind downriggerrelease.RIVERSFlatFish can be cast cross current and allowed to swing through fish-holding water.From a boat, FlatFish can be trolled, still fished (by anchoring and using rivercurrent to work lure) or back-trolled (troll FlatFish behind boat while backing boatdownriver slower than river current).ADD SCENT, TIP OR ADD FILLET OF BAITFISH TO LUREYou can make FlatFish even more effective by adding scent to your lure or tippingone prong of treble hook with maggot, leech or worm.
