This ready-to-fish softbaiting combo pairs the Yamaga Blanks Early Boat 68M spinning rod with the Daiwa 25 Caldia LT4000-CXH reel and XBRAID Upgrade X8 Pentagram braid delivering the sensitivity, power, and line control needed to cast and work soft plastic lures with confidence.

Rod: Yamaga Blanks – Early Boat 68M Spinning Rod

The Early Boat 68M is a 6’8″ medium-action spinning rod built for boat-based soft plastic fishing. Its blank construction delivers sharp tip sensitivity for detecting subtle strikes while maintaining enough backbone to drive hooks and control fish. The length and action are well-suited to pitching and working paddle tails, grubs, and other soft plastics around structure.

Reel: Daiwa – 25 CALDIA LT4000-CXH

The 25 Caldia LT4000-CXH sits in Daiwa’s LT (Light & Tough) platform, delivering a high-speed XH retrieve rate ideal for quickly recovering slack and keeping contact with soft plastics on the drop and swing. It offers a solid line capacity for the 4000 size, smooth drag performance, and the lightweight build that reduces fatigue on a full day of casting.

Line: XBRAID – UPGRADE X8 PENTAGRAM

The XBRAID Upgrade X8 Pentagram is an 8-carrier PE braid built around a pentagram weave structure for improved roundness, surface smoothness, and casting distance. The near-zero stretch of PE braid transmits every twitch and tap directly to your hands, making it an excellent match for reading soft plastic action and detecting light-biting fish.

Together, these three components form a cohesive, technique-specific softbaiting setup ideal for anglers targeting reef and inshore species from the boat. Add to cart and fish ready.
