This ready-to-fish softbaiting combo pairs the Assassin Supernova 73MH rod with the Daiwa 25 Caldia LT4000-CXH reel and XBRAID Upgrade X8 Pentagram braid a precision-matched setup built for casting and working soft plastic lures with confidence.

Rod: Assassin – Supernova 73MH Softbait Rod

The Supernova 73MH is a 7’3″ medium-heavy softbait rod engineered for casting and animating soft plastics. Its fast action delivers crisp lure control and sharp hook sets, while the MH power rating handles a wide range of soft plastic sizes and target species. Sensitive enough to detect subtle takes, strong enough to drive hooks home.

Reel: Daiwa – 25 CALDIA LT4000-CXH

The 2025 Caldia LT4000-CXH sits in Daiwa’s respected Caldia LT series, featuring a lightweight yet rigid body under Daiwa’s LT (Light & Tough) concept. The CXH designation means an extra-high gear ratio for fast line recovery ideal for working soft plastics and quickly retrieving slack. A reliable, smooth performer built for serious inshore and light offshore use.

Line: XBRAID – UPGRADE X8 PENTAGRAM

The XBRAID Upgrade X8 Pentagram is an 8-carrier PE braid constructed using a pentagram weave pattern for exceptional roundness, smoothness, and casting distance. High sensitivity with minimal stretch keeps you connected to every tick and nudge of your soft plastic. It’s an ideal mainline choice for softbaiting, maximising feel and long-range lure presentation.

Together, these three components form a cohesive softbaiting system built for anglers who demand precision and reliability. Add to cart and hit the water ready to fish.
